Performs a variety of duties to support the paying and receiving function of the community bank office of which the following are illustrative:

Qualifications: 

Hours per Week: 12-29 hours

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, with Saturday morning hours.

Promote a positive image of the bank with outstanding customer service; by developing a relationship with business and personal customers, while completing a verity of transactions efficiently and effectively. Responsible for serving bank customers at the Community Banking line, within the guidelines of bank policy and procedures. Often, being the first point of contact for customer questions and inquiries. Through relationship building, promote and refer appropriate bank product and services.

  1. Performs a variety of duties efficiently and accurately as followed, but not limited to:
    • Red flags for customer fraud and scams
    • Review out of ordinary transactions and report it to supervisor/management immediately
    • The ability to teach the customer of popular scams and how to avoid being a victim
    • Promote bank services to help prevent customers from being victims of fraud/scams (online banking alerts, informational brochures, card hub, checking online banking daily etc.)
    • Process deposits and withdrawals of various account types.
    • Cashes checks within approved authority and operating policy.
    • Prepare and process wire transaction request(s).
    • Sells Cashiers Checks, Money Orders, Certified Checks, etc.
    • Accepts loan payments, safe deposit box rent, and other related payments.
    • Processes night drop and mail deposits.
    • Provide outstanding customer service while always remaining professional.
    • Build and maintain a relationship and awareness of new opportunities with customers; appropriately promote bank product and services; refers customers to appropriate team members.
    • Maintain an organized workstation to keep an accurate and timely cashbox balancing and end of day routine, while maintaining within bank policy limits and procedures.
    • Prepares and scans in daily work
    • Process general ledger accounts related to the paying and receiving function, e.g., coin, inter-bank accounts, etc.
    • Collect all required customer information for BSA reporting purposes CTR’s etc.
    • Process coin counting service for customers.
    • Cross-sells deposit, loan, and internet banking, merchant services and other products to customers when appropriate.
    • Settle and process ATM transactions daily.
    • Community Bankers should be vigilant of the following:
  2. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the unit or department as well as with other units and departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information and customer experience.
  3. Must be able to perform Community Banker duties at any branch location.
  4. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  5. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank’s CIP program, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
  6. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.
  7. Responds to inquiries or to requests from customers, other bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  8. Maintain compliance with all regulations and bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.
  9. Regular and predictable attendance is expected and is an essential function of the job.

New Tripoli Bank is seeking a Community Banking Specialist with the availability to work some Saturday mornings. Excellent benefit package.

Responsible for promoting the bank in a positive way through building and maintaining customer relationships though the account opening process and on the teller line. Assist new and existing bank customers with more complex inquiries, account openings and account maintenance. Have advanced knowledge on bank products and services. Through relationship building, promote and educate customers on bank product and services and refer them to proper team members, when appropriate.

Essential Duties

  1. Provide Community Banker duties to ensure accurate operations while providing a full range of transactional services. These duties include but are not limited to:
    1. Accepting deposits and withdrawals of various account types
    2. Maintain and verify cashbox totals to keep within bank limits.
    3. Cashing checks within the approved authority and operating policy
    4. Accepting loan payments, safe deposit box rents, and other related payments
    5. Complete wire transfer paperwork efficiently and accurately.
  2. Perform a variety of duties to support the consumer services function, these duties include but are not limited to:
    1. Opening and maintaining new accounts, as well as gathering customer information to process new and existing accounts.
    2. Aid the customer service team involved in soliciting new business from present and prospective customers. Also, build and maintain ongoing business relationships with new and present customers to promote additional bank products and services.
    3. Provide customer service information on a timely basis in order it may be included as part of monthly and year-to-date performance reports. May also be assigned to review daily, weekly, and monthly reports for accuracy and follow-up.
    4. Attain complete working knowledge of all bank products and services, including features and benefits, to meet and educate the financial needs of the customer. This knowledge is to include but not limited to deposit products, IRA’s, internet banking, merchant services, wealth management, credit cards etc.
    5. Exemplify extraordinary customer service with the ability to ask questions and identify customer needs to enhance the customer relationship and cross selling opportunities, when appropriate.
    6. Assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments as necessary, aid and resolve customers with specific inquiries or service within authority. Seek manager approval for exceptions to normal bank procedures.
    Community Banking Specialists should be vigilant of the following:

  3. Refer lending inquiries to proper Loan Officer
  4. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information and customer introductions/transitions.
  5. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  6. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), bank CIP program, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
  7. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.
  8. Responds to inquiries or to requests from customers, other bank team members, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  9. Assists the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support department operations, as directed; may also be assigned special projects.
  10. Ability to fill in as Community Banker.
  11. Regular and predictable attendance is expected and is an essential function of the job.

Ancillary Duties

  1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
  2. All other duties as assigned.
