The John Walson Jr. Golf for Kids' Sake event is an annual fundraiser supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley. Each year, nearly 120 golfers and 50 corporate partners come together to help raise critically needed funds. 

The tournament was renamed in 2012 after the passing of John Walson, Jr., former Service Electric Cable TV President and CEO, who was an unwavering advocate and supporter of BBBSLV for over 35 years.

Celebrating 50 years in 2021, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley is a part of a national organization whose mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. 

There are hundreds of children in the Lehigh Valley in need of a personal champion. It takes financial support from our community to sustain not only our current Big and Little matches, but also to create new mentoring relationships for kids who are waiting.

Fall Bash tickets are $30.00 each and features 51 prizes. (You don't need to be present to win the 51 prizes. 50 items have cash options and the 51st prize is a 2026 GMC Terrain Evolution AWD) The attendance prize is also a 2026 GMC Terrain Evolution AWD. (You must be present to win this one)

The Western Lehigh Chamber invites you on a free tour of The Sanctuary at Haafsville, a safe haven for homeless dogs and cats. After the tour, celebrate the success of the first-annual Paws at the Park festival from May 2021 with a check presentation of the event proceeds to this local non-profit.

Come join us at Blue Mountain Vineyards for our Flocktober Talk! We have some great giveaways planned from our sponsors! We will have a great presentation on winterizing your chickens and chicken coop and what to watch for over winter as well as bedding options for year-round in the coop!

Come out and have some fun with the Emmaus Police Department.

We are hosting the National Night Out and having an open house and many other activities.

• Dunk the Chief of Police and members of the Police Department and Emmaus Borough Council
• MeLVin from the Phantoms will make an appearance from 6 - 6:30 PM
• Listen to tunes played by DJ Dutch
• Members of the Arts Commission and the Emmaus Public Library will be on hand
• Watch a K-9 demonstration by Sgt. Murante and his partner Ronnie
• Take a tour of the Police Department and meet the Officers
• The Emmaus Fire Department will be on hand with their new fire truck
• The Emmaus Ambulance will be on display along with the police vehicles
• Purchase a hot dog from Good Dogs Hot Dogs and a lemonade from the Macungie Mountain Herb Farm. Then finish it off with a cold treat from Rita's
• The State Parole will be on hand along with the Lehigh County Drug Task Force

The Northwestern Recreation Commission is hosting their 26th annual "Night in the Country." Rain date is Sunday, August 17th. Fun is planned for all. A live country band, car cruise, DJ, bingo, etc., plus great food and activities. To end the evening, a fireworks display is planned. Suggested admission donation is $5 for adults, and $4 for children under 12.

We would like to take this opportunity to invite you and your organization, booster clubs, churches, etc. to be a part of this night. It is really nice to see the community organizations participate in this event; and a fun way to earn a little extra money for your favorite group.

We are always in need of volunteers for this event. A little time or a lot of time to give is appreciated.

 It really is a fun night to get together with neighbors, friends, and family.

They are creating a special beer to premiere at this event, all in support of The Kindness Project!

Featuring street rods, hot rods, customs and more. All weekend you can enjoy monster trucks, swap meet vendors, craft vendors, and TV show cars! Gates open at 7:00 a.m.

Admission is $15 or $30 for 3-day pass; FREE for kids under 16. No pets, skateboards, bikes or scooters. Donations of food items for local food bank will be greatly appreciated.
