Performing in front of a live audience is an important part of the Community Music School experience and is key to developing well-rounded musicians. CMS encourages students of all levels and ages to perform when they are ready, with permission from their teacher. Numerous free performance opportunities are available, including both in-house recitals and community programs. All CMS recitals are free and open to the public; there is also no fee for students who perform.

About the 2026 Greater Lehigh Valley Walk

The Walks are an opportunity to find a supportive community of people who get it, to know you're not alone, and to make a difference together.

Walks are between 1 to 3 miles and non-competitive. The route and additional information specific to the Greater Lehigh Valley Walk will be added closer to Walk day.

Our program includes an opening ceremony, activities of hope and healing, resource tables, and complimentary honor beads for every participant.

Supporting First Responders & Veterans

Presented by Benjamin Iobst, Ph.D. Organizational Psychology and Criminal Justice Consultant

This course provides an overview of common mental health challenges affecting first responders and veterans, including warning signs, risk factors, and practical ways to offer support.

Participants will also become familiar with local community resources available for treatment, crisis response, peer support, and ongoing assistance.
